Raidho

Ribbon tweeter, diamond and ceramics

Danish loudspeakers with sealed ribbon tweeters and diamond-coated drivers — speed, transparency and a stage without borders.

Raidho Acoustics designs loudspeakers based on a core belief: the ear may overlook many flaws, but not slowness. To address this, Raidho has spent decades minimizing moving mass and stored energy to preserve musical clarity.

Raidho is known for its innovative technologies: a sealed ribbon tweeter with an ultra-light membrane that moves precisely with the signal, and driver cones constructed in layers of ceramic, tantalum, and diamond to eliminate audible resonances. The slim, curved cabinets are engineered to avoid energy storage. A dedicated team designs, builds, and voices all products in Denmark.

This approach creates the distinctive Raidho sound, recognized by exhibition visitors for its expansive soundstage, airy treble, and remarkable speed that revitalizes familiar recordings. From the accessible X series to the reference TD line, Raidho offers a benchmark in modern high-end audio.

Mass Is the Enemy

Raidho's engineering addresses the primary challenges in loudspeaker design: moving mass and stored energy.

The sealed ribbon tweeter exemplifies this approach. Its membrane, a lightweight film sandwich, is driven uniformly across its surface, eliminating the voice-coil bottleneck and minimizing inertia. As a result, it accurately follows the signal without overshoot or ringing. Listeners often describe the ribbon treble as both relaxed and highly detailed, as the design avoids mechanical force.

The cone drivers achieve similar results through advanced materials. Raidho's driver program applies exotic materials to lightweight structures, such as the ceramic-membrane drivers in the X series and the tantalum-diamond cones in the TD line. The diamond layer significantly increases stiffness, moving the first resonance beyond the audible range and preventing coloration. Underhung motor systems with neodymium magnets ensure precise control.

The cabinets feature narrow baffles for improved imaging, deep curves for increased stiffness, and internal architecture that minimizes energy storage. The signature side-mounted stands also provide effective decoupling.

All components are measured and then voiced by ear in Denmark by the experienced team responsible for every Raidho model. While the technology is innovative, the goal remains traditional: to reproduce music with natural, lifelike movement.

X Series to TD: The Range

Raidho’s catalog consists of two product families. The X series offers an accessible entry point to Raidho’s lineup, maintaining the brand’s high standards without compromise. The X1.6 stand-mount delivers the full ribbon experience in a compact design and has outperformed larger loudspeakers in numerous reviews. The X2.6 and new X2.8 floorstanders expand on this concept with ceramic-membrane bass drivers and slim profiles, while retaining the series’ signature ability to blend seamlessly into any space. Designed for refined spaces and realistic budgets, the X series brings Raidho performance within reach. The X series makes Raidho magic attainable.

The TD series represents Raidho’s reference line, featuring advanced tantalum-diamond drivers. The TD1.2 stand-mount is widely regarded as one of the finest compact loudspeakers available. The TD2.2 and TD3.2 floorstanders, along with the larger TD4.8 and flagship TD6, offer increasing scale and bass performance for larger spaces. Each model adds capability while preserving the core sound signature.

Raidho uniquely applies diamond-coated technology to the lower frequencies with the TD8 SUB and TD10 SUB, the world’s first subwoofers to feature diamond-coated drivers. These subwoofers deliver bass with the same resolution and speed as the main speakers, addressing the common mismatch found with conventional subwoofers.

All models are hand-built and pair-matched in Denmark, finished in automotive-grade lacquers, including signature walnut burl and custom colors. Production is meticulous, with genuine waiting lists, and each pair is designed to deliver an immersive listening experience that highlights the music, not the speakers.

The Disappearing Act

Ask Raidho owners what they bought, and a few mention drivers or materials. They describe the moment the loudspeakers vanished.

It is the brand's defining party trick: close your eyes and the sound has no origin — voices hang in free space, the stage extends beyond the walls, depth becomes architectural. The slim baffles, phase-coherent crossovers and massless treble conspire to remove every cue the ear uses to locate a loudspeaker.

This is why Raidho demonstrations are famously quiet affairs: conversation stops. The equipment disappears, and what remains is the event — which was, from the first sketch in Denmark, the entire point.

Why choose Raidho?

Choose Raidho because certain qualities cannot be approximated; they are either engineered in or absent. Features such as the massless ribbon, diamond-stiffened cones, and resonance-free cabinets deliver a musical presentation that conventional loudspeakers, regardless of price, cannot match.

Choose Raidho for high resolution without harshness. The ribbon-diamond architecture delivers maximum detail with ease, revealing subtle elements in recordings such as breath, bow, and room acoustics, while maintaining smooth treble over extended listening. Many listeners sensitive to hi-fi brightness find Raidho the first detailed loudspeaker they can enjoy long-term; here, detail comes from speed, not sharpness.

Choose Raidho for its exceptional soundstage. The speakers create an immersive stage that extends beyond the physical boundaries of the cabinets, with performers positioned naturally and stably. This effect enhances not only audiophile recordings but also everyday studio tracks, giving music a tangible sense of place.

Choose Raidho for consistent coherence across the range. Whether using the X1.6 in a study or the TD6 in a large hall, all models deliver a unified sound signature. Upgrading within the range does not require adjusting to a new sound. Adding diamond subwoofers ensures seamless integration of the lowest frequencies, a feature unique to Raidho.

Choose Raidho for its craftsmanship. Each speaker is hand-assembled in Denmark, delivered as matched pairs, and finished to the highest standards. The manufactory provides full support and tracks every serial number. As a result, each Raidho is built and documented as a reference instrument and retains its value.

An audition is essential. Referenz Studio in Riga demonstrates Raidho in an acoustically prepared room. We encourage you to bring recordings with natural spatial qualities, close your eyes, and experience the difference. Most listeners are convinced after just one track.
